In WA, HR learners must usually hold a non-provisional C class licence for at
least 2 years, or an LR or MR licence for at least 1 year. You will also need
proof of identity, a completed application, an eyesight test and the heavy
vehicle theory test before your practical assessment.
Yes, if you meet the WA experience rules. HC requires a C class licence for 3
years and MR or HR for 12 months, while MC requires a C class licence for 3
years and HR or HC for 12 months. MC training and assessment must be completed
through an approved RTO.
Training time depends on your current driving experience, the licence class and
how ready you are for the PDA. Some learners complete condensed training, while
others need extra time for vehicle checks, reversing, road positioning and safe
heavy vehicle control before assessment.
